Today I would like to share my experience of legal translation from Russian into Portuguese.
Last week, one of my friends and permanent clients, the translation agency “Equality” (http://www.equality-translation.by/) asked me to translate documents of two citizens of Angola, Audacio Herlander Hel Mahaso and Matuca Luis Venicio Coimbra. Both men study in Belarus, they required the translation of such documents as proof of occupation, students ID card, tuition fee certificate, certificate of education and banking checks. All in all I had to translate about nine legal document that later required additional certified registration with notary public.
As the legal documents have the standard form, the translation process wasn’t too long as I already had the required TMs and glossary. It took me around 2 hours to translate and prepare the document for the notary public.
I would like to tell about the certificates. As the certificates were translated from Russian, such type of legal documents duplicated the legal form in Russian in some way. The title of certificate was always “CERTIDÃO”.
Each certificate included personal data which was excluded from the images in order to protect personal information of the clients.
As the documents had standard legal form I would like to show only how the typical form looks like both in Russian and Portuguese.
After the translation was ready, I had to visit the notary public in order to submit the certified translation with my personal signature and diploma. It is the standard legal procedure which doesn’t take long but it is obligatory as the translation will be used also in Angola.
I can do the same type of translation for you or your clients. In case of interest please contact me and I will do my best in order to help you with legal translation from Russian into Portuguese.
